Inspired by the love letter and the visual language of tarot, this work takes the form of a card deck. Its title comes from the Italian figure of the ‘cartomante’ meaning ‘future teller who reads cards’— and the word ‘amante’ meaning ‘that who loves’, ‘lover’ and ‘loving’.

First conceived as a performative figure reading cards with participants, the Carto-Amante opens small speculative spaces where playful, slightly surreal readings of intimacy and desire can unfold. These micro-utopian encounters queer futurity by allowing multiple, shifting possibilities rather than fixed narratives.
